Heel pain in Stuart

Do you suffer from foot pain due to ankle sprains, bunions, flat feet, hammertoes, diabetes, heel spurs, corns, or athlete’s foot? If you’re looking for a podiatrist that can treat any and all of those conditions, especially if you suffer from heel pain, then it’s time you visit the office of Joseph C. Taub. He uses traditional and complementary techniques in his search to relieve foo, ankle, and heel pain in Stuart.

Foot pain can be caused by many different things. One of the most common causes of heel and arch pain in the foot is called plantar fasciitis. It involves pain and inflammation of a thick band of tissue (the plantar fascia) that runs across the bottom of your foot and connects your heel bone to your toes. Your heel pain in Stuart may be alleviated with prescribed customized shoe inserts called orthoses from your podiatrist, Dr. Taub. Other cause of foot pain may be due to ankle sprains. This is an unnatural twisting or force on the ankle bones of the foot, often resulting in one or more ligaments on the outside of the ankle to be stretched or torn. If not properly treated, ankle sprains could develop into long-term problems. However, not all sources of foot pain are due to injury. Bunions, for example, are misaligned big toe joints that can become swollen and tender, causing the first joint of the big toe to slant outward, and the second joint to angle toward the other toes. Similarly, hammertoe is a deformity of the second, third, or fourth toes. In this condition, the toe is bent at the middle joint, resembling a hammer. Left untreated, hammertoes can become inflexible and require surgery. Corns and calluses are protective layers of compacted, dead skin cells that can also cause pain. They are caused by repeated friction from skin rubbing against bony areas or against an irregularity in a shoe. Corns ordinarily form on the toes and calluses on the soles of the feet. Foot pain can also be due to a chronic infection caused by various types of fungus. Athlete's foot, for example, is often spread in places where people go barefoot such as public showers or swimming pools. Patients with diabetes are also prone to foot pain. With a diabetic foot, a wound as small as a blister from wearing a shoe that's too tight can cause a lot of damage. Diabetes decreases blood flow, so injuries are slow to heal.

At the office of Joseph C. Taub, we view the person as a sum of all the body parts. For example, we will not treat just the foot as a foot problem but we will address other aspects of the body which have a correlation. This allows us to treat the whole body, not just the foot or the heel. We can treat the problem at the core, not just take away the symptoms of it. By making Dr. Taub your podiatrist, you’ll be one step closer to alleviating your heel pain in Stuart and having healthy and happy feet, ankles, and heels.
